    Toyota Sells Five-Millionth Hybrid

    Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) says cumulative global sales of its hybrid vehicles have topped five million units. The company said it took just 11 months to sell the latest million, bringing the total to 5,125,600 at the end of March - including more than 50,000 in Australia. TMC has estimated that its worldwide sales of hybrid vehicles have led to approximately 34 million fewer tons* of CO2 being emitted compared with petrol-powered vehicles of similar size and driving performance.

    Toyota Sells 50,000th Hybrid Car in Australia

    Toyota has just sold its 50,000th hybrid car in Australia with the locally built Camry Hybrid now found in more Australian homes than the iconic Prius. Toyota dealers have sold almost 42,000 petrol-electric hybrid cars in Australia while their Lexus counterparts have delivered a further 8,500, for a combined total of 50,475.
